2001 Sonoma Shifter problem
I just bought 2 GMC Sonoma's
My 2001 has a 2.2L and a 5 speed. Its a good truck but the shifter is really sloppy. I have to shift carefully shift so I dont go end up in the wrong gear or shift into reverse by accident. Is there a shifter rebuild kit? |

Re: 2001 Sonoma Shifter problem
Pull the shift lever off and check for the plastic button on the end of shift lever.
The shift lever housing/hold down has 4 bolts holding it to transmission shifting top. You local dealer should have it and any other parts you need. Good lucK. MT

Re: 2001 Sonoma Shifter problem
The dealership here in phoenix wants $145 for the shifter and 17 for the bushing.
Is there any place where I can see what it looks like? |

The parts department can give you a pictutre of it or show you the bushing. A all data sub may have some info and pictures. http://www.alldata.com/products/diy/index.html
