How to program the Factory Remote

This is how I do it. you must know where your Valet Switch is.

1. Put key in ignition and turn to on.

2. Flip switch on/off 3 times. Car alarm should chirp/beep/ect. once to signal that you are in program remote mode.

3. Hold the button you want to program as lock untill the the alarm chirps.

4. Flip the switch on/off once, alarm should chirp twice.

5. Hold down button yuo want to program as unlock untill alarm chirps.

6. Dont know if you actually have to do this step, but I do anyway. Flip the switch one more time and the alarm should chirp 3 times.

7. Start the car then turn it off and try to see if it worked.

Im not sure if you need to flip the switch once or not after the 2nd step.

Re: How to program the Factory Remote

Here is what I got for programming a keyless entry with out the alram (Valet switch). I have not tried this yet but I am going to try it today when I get off work to verify it works. It may seem a little difficult but in reality it is simple like I said though I will verify that it works and post a reply to let you know.

  • Locate the Data Port under drivers side dashboard usually located to the right of steering column.

  • Insert keys in ignition and leave in the OFF position.
  • Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 and connect the Data Port terminals 1 and 4 with a suitable jumper wire, leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure. Make sure you know which terminals are 1 and 4.
  • Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch 6 times. Note: The doors will automatically lock and unlock once at this time indicating that the system is in the programming mode.
  • Press the LOCK button on the remote to be registered three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful programming, the door will lock and unlock once.
  • Repeat step 5 with up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes) within one minute. After completing each programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.
  • Disconnect the programming wire and remove the keys from the ignition..

Re: How to program the Factory Remote

Ok guys I have the 03 eclipse gt with out a valet switch. I used the instructions above to program my new remote and they worked perfectly. If you have another type of car try this website www.programyourremote.com this is where I found the info on my remote the site was supplied to me when I purchased my remote from e-bay for 17 dollars from the remote store... So if you are looking for a remote I would recomend this place cause they are cheap and brand new!!!

Re: How to program the Factory Remote

1. Locate the Data Line Connector (DLC) underneath the driver's side dashboard. The DLC is typically located either to the left or the right of the steering column base. Notice how the DLC is tapered on both ends: you will be working on the wider row of cavities
2. Insert keys in Ignition and leave in the off position.
3. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 and connect the Data Line Connector (DLC) terminal 1 to terminal 4 with a suitable jumper wire, leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure). Make sure you know which terminals are 1 and 4.
4. Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch 6 times. (Note) The doors will automatically lock and unlock once at this time indicating that the system is in the programming mode.
5. Press either the lock or unlock button on the transmitter to be registered three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful
programming, the door will lock and unlock once.
6. Repeat step 5, with any other remotes to be programmed (up to four remotes) (including any existing remotes), within one minute. After completing each programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.
7. Disconnect the programming wire and remove the keys from the
ignition.
