Power Seat Lumbar Problems

Hi,

I searched and saw a number of posts where the lumbar works and the rest of the power seat does not. I have the exact opposite problem where the power seat works except for the lumbar adjustment. The vehicle is a 99 Blazer LT.

I suspect the actual mechanism in the seat broke as I went to sit down one day with the lumbar support extended out a fair bit and it seemed to suddently "pop" and all the lumbar support was gone. How does the mechanism inside work (i.e. Is it a motor with a screw type mechanism that extends/retracts lumbar support?)? Is it replaceable and if so, how complicated is it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
TJ

Re: Power Seat Lumbar Problems

TJ
most like it is rotted wires under the carpet,, not all of them are rotted because the power seats work you said.... I would start there anyway
you need to remove the seat pull up the carpet,, on mine they were all bad
cut out the rotted wire and then reconnect them, in the connector under the seat you can unplug it and test the motor to the lumbar also.. kappy

ps send me your e mail,, easier to attach the wireing diagram there is a support switch I see
