I thought I would let you see the most recently completed kit of mine, actually the first one I have finished in a while. It's the Revell Germany kit of the MP4/12, not the greatest molding in the world, nor the most accurate decal, but as long as it's a McLaren I am happy. Kind of figured I had to prove I do build model cars too ![]() Hope you all enjoy, feel free to leave any comments, good or bad. Thanks Ray

Nice Mclaren :flash: :flash:
I suggest getting some tobacco conversion decals for the "West" on the sidepods, wings and all. Believe me they make the MP4s look MUCH nicer (I have the 1/18 diecasts).

Nice to see something from you Ray. You have done a good job of that one, i know that these are nasty kits and need some extra work. You might want to consider replacing the awful tyres that come with it though, Hiroaki posted a suggestion of using the Kyosho Mini Z tyres but you could also check out the ones on the HotWheels 1/24 diecast's???

Hi Ray,
Well done on a difficult kit. I started mine last year, but got stuck on the red/dayglo nose section. It's still on hold. Are the wheel nuts after market ones? And as long as it's a McLaren, "me very happy too"!!

Thanks for the comment guys, they are appreciated.
To answer some of the questions..... I tried to find the West decals for the kit, even tried searching E-Bay, just couldn't find any, I am still looking for the West decals for my 1/20 Mclaren too. I thought about doing the tyre switch Chris, but I couldn't justify the cost to myself on a kit of this value. Huudo, I know what you mean about the nose decals, but I found a way around it. That piece that is printed as part of the main underside decal for the nose, that is to go around the tip of the nose, I cut off the main section. Then I positioned the main underside decal on and once I had that set in place I put the section I trimmed off in place. There are still a few gaps but I used the numbers I didn't use(from David's car) and trimmed them to strips to fill the gaps. The hole situation used plenty of careful positioning and setting solution, but I think you can barely see it. Hope that helps you/ Thanks again all. Ray

Congratulations on finishing one of the worst engineered kits ever, and doing a great job on it!:flash:

Re: 1/24 Mclaren MP4/12 Photos
thats a nice build. Is this the 1997 car. Tamiya did release the 1998 car which won the dirvers championship with Mika Hakkenen.
