component speaker questions

I have a 98 GTP with the 8-speaker premium sound system. My rear speakers and front left speaker have all died or blown so I'm thinking it's time for replacements. I've got all the sizes and instructions on how to replace them but my question is whether or not any of them are 2-way or 3-way speakers? Do 6x9s even come in a "1-way" configuration? Oh, I guess I was also wondering if there are any component systems out there that come with 4-6 speakers so that I don't have to buy each set individually? I'm not wanting to spend all that much money. thanks
