Talking Beautiful, Just Amazing. This car is something.

Been a while since I last posted a thread of any sort on this forum. Well you are not going to be dissappointed. Nissan finally released some facts about the next GT-R, It has 440hp with a VQ37DETT,(incresed bore and stroke, similar to the engine used in the Z33GT for lemans next year) using elecrically assisted turbo chargers, to provide power and torque at below 3000rpms. I will try to post the first official pics, however Nissan seems to have imposed media embargos on them. It will debut in the 2003 Motor show. Lets just say no magazine has guessed an accurate design. It has a very very wild body kit. Any way back to the engine. Nissan estimates that tuning the car would be easy, as long as you use the righ size of turbo chargers. Tunability apparently was one of their priorities. Now if we only knew the price. 0-60 claim? 4.3seconds. top spped of about 180mph. I will not share my source with you because the site has taken down the information, (due to media embargos) You will be hearing this all over the web in about a month or two.

Its more suited for the American market. Power plant wise, its better. Looks, well I am still looking at it I hope it grows on me. There have been a few cars out there when I first saw them I really did not like, but in time they started to look better. Sort of like beer goggles without the beer.

I thought they were using the VQ36DETT.

That picture is 95% of what I am talking about. Of course the infiniti and skyline badges aren't included though. Just thought I'd put them there for nostalgia's sake.

I wish Nissan wouldnt send the GT-R to the US. For the one reason that it will be dulled down in order to suit the US's needs and to meet their regulations. The 11th generation Skyline/GT-R/whatever they want to call it will not be a patch on the R34

Five things are making this picture not 100%. it is missing what I call side intakes, a huge spoiler (which according to my source pops up at high speeds) and it is a lot lower to the ground than this. The GT-R concept fenders are there and as wide as ever, you simply can't see them from this angle though. The front is a triangular styled headlight. I think I finally found a magazine by the name of BestCar that recently came out, and it seems to be the closest in design accuracy. I will show you what the front looks like from this magazine. People, I am telling you, the car is beautiful. (notice Nissan's use of 3d imaging instead of drawings, another nissan first?)

Yeah, we often get watered-down versions of foreign cars, and have to rectify the problem ourselves. But that's no reason not to send it here! At least give us something to work with!
My car is one of the few instances where the USDM got a cool version of a Japanese car that nobody else got, not even Canada. And it wasn't even built here, it was built in Japan, and they shipped all the V6's to the US and didn't even sell them in the home market.

Hey CARS, thanks for the update! thats some really good news. i would love to see some official pictures of the new GT-R. I'm guessing that the new GT-R will outclass new HONDA NSX'S, MITSUBISHI EVO'S and SUBARU WRX'S EASILY, (AS THEY'VE ALWAYS DONE).

what are the big differences between the now older model GT-R'S to the new GT-R soon to be seen at the 2003 motor show?

Well, the only pics I believe are the official ones of the GTR concept, which is not that.

As for the engine, the fact that Nismo are campaigning an R34 with a VQ30DETT, suggests to me that a VQ30 is more likely than a VQ37.
