[WIP] Tribute To The 60 Red Years: 599GTB Fiorano

Sorry guys, another damn ferrari... This was not my original idea, but after seeing someone's AWESOME work I just couldn't resist opening the box!!! So blame him~

Ok it's just a start, and I guess if everything goes well the updating will be very slow as usual since I was always busy working, but anyway there was an asshole who set a deadline of the X'mas Eve .( Of course together with the 612)

So here're pics.

Of course I'm one of you recaro daytona seat fans , but I was the poor one who can't afford the gorgeous KA stuff so...

And after the long time jigsaw puzzle I got only a backrest~

Just a test fit so you can see a huge gap under the headrest, I'll fix that later. And it's now not detailed as well, maybe the old sprue trickie? How do you think guys? Sprue Seams or not?

Thanks for looking! C&C welcome as always!

Hey, wow, Tang is back! (And look at that, he's building a Ferrari of all things )

My friend, give it the sprue treatment. I've still not gotten over my amazement from your 612 interior, moreso since I've tried to replicate it. Until I figure out how the fxxk you do it, at least let me watch.

Re: [WIP] Tribute To The 60 Red Years: 599GTB Fiorano

Just to be different, I say DON'T add piping to the seats. I think Daytona seats will look "pimpy" with colored piping round the edges (unless it is in the same color as the seat leather...)

Re: [WIP] Tribute To The 60 Red Years: 599GTB Fiorano

Thank you guys! OK I'll do the leather seams and try my best to explain everything well.

Ski my interior will be the original Tan/CF color scheme so the color on the seams won't be different.

Re: [WIP] Tribute To The 60 Red Years: 599GTB Fiorano

Not a decent update but here it comes~

The backrest insert i made last time(as shown above) was about 1mm shorter than it should be, so I remade it... that's a pain in the ass... but the result is acceptable, I got perfect fitness this time.

Also done a little bit on the back, still lacked the 2 CF panels on both sides.

Here's a preview of the seat, it was very hard to take a clear picture so I used unusual light to improve it a little bit, just a little bit... I guess you'll have a better view when the gray primer is applied.

I removed the molded seat base for the new seat which will have full base/control panel frame.

Then I made a base bracket with plastic sheets, and adjusted the height and angle of the seat. I'll make tha control panel and so on next.

That's all for this time. I'm planning to pipe the seat after casting them since I think I'll mess up everything if I cast the seamed seat, or worse damage the prototype. This will be the first time I attempt to cast something, so I must be careful. If you guys have some good idea of casting the seat, especially well making the mold please post, it'll be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot for looking guys!

Hi Rodney, glad to see you here too! Thanks buddy~~~
Hey G the cost will be a pasta/pizza shop in China~~~~ opcorn:

Good to see you at another project, I really enjoy your wip's and the seats you modified are exactly what I'm talking about. Very clean precise work as usual.

Tang: just cast the daytona insert, with a simple 1 side mold and we all would be happy, you don't spend capitals to learn (qqqqqqqquickly) to cast, but more, the result would be perfect
