2003 Suburban Stalls

Any solutions for random stalling on 2003 Suburban?
Mostly happens when accelarating uphill but have had it happen on flat ground and when making a turn. No warning (misfires, warning lights, etc) engine just dies.

First I would check fuel pressure. Then look for battery cables dirty or loose.

Sounds like a fuel filter, typically the symptoms you discribe are caused by a clogged fuel filter. It is located under the truck on the frame rail, directly under the drivers seat. Replace it and I am willing to bet it'll fix it. You'll need a 5/8" and either a 13/16" or 7/8" wrench. The filter only cost about $15 at Checker Auto parts. It is really easy to do and anyone can do it.

If its during hot weather and or high altitude then you need to have the NEW fuel pump.

Another Gm screw up, ( I do like gm tho) I had the same issue and found it not an isolated incident.

Dealer stated that gm has a new fuel pump for high altitude. There is a bulletin on this.

Miy 04 was under warranty.

crankshaft position sensor will cause it to stall then after it cools off ten minutes or so it will crank and run a short while then stall out again. if you have 8.1 vortec it is located drivers side rear of motor . they put it in a fun place to get to.
