oh man heres the deal... this is the hardest thing ive had to deal with in a long time.... my dad said to sell my talon, sell my dirtbike. then he will throw down 5 grand, i can prolly get about 6,500 for my talon, maybe more but i love my car , but then i would have about 14,000 to work with... im making some big steps. i hope i make the right decisions.. im open to everyones sugesstions

my bad if i wasnt clear.. but my 1992 talon tsi awd. is what i am selling. my cusin is interested my dirtbick is gone to some kid that lives on my street and my brother bought my B16g off my this morning.. i want to sell my talon to buy a new car.. i hope this is clear.

WRX's are nice cars, the only complaint I have and have actually witnessed is the trannys... They are like glass. I've known many people who have detonated their trannys within months of having the car. A feasable solution would be to upgrade the tranny to an STI 6 speed. Those trannys are built for the abuse that is gonna be dished out to it... So I would start hunting for a good STI tranny immediately after getting a normal WRX. Unless you actually get a WRX STI model from the start... I do like that one though. I had thought about getting one as a daily driver...

That and WRX's sound funny to me with full exhaust. Some people like it, personally I think it sounds like some sort of pissed off bee.

This is very true, I know a guy that has gone through 3 of them in his bug eye WRX.

This, however, may not be. I asked my buddy that has been throwing trannies out of his WRX why he didnt just put in a STI 6 speed and he said that they used different drivetrains. IIRC none of the spline counts on a given part are the same meaning that to upgrade his to a 6 speed he would have to get a drive shaft, rear end w/ axles, front axles, t case, AND the tranny, not to mention that brakes and suspension probably arent compatible either. This is on his bug eye WRX though, I dont know for sure about the newer ones.

On a side note, how the FUCK did you pull 6g's for your 92 TSI AWD?!

Not to bust your bubble here bro, but there is no way a '92 can sell for $6,500, even if it is boosted and AWD, and even if the mileage were low...I mean, decently modded 2G turbos barely make it past that mark. Mitsu/DSM resale value simply *sucks* and their cars depreciate like there's no tomorrow. It's great for finding deals on used Mits/DSM vehicles, but not so hot when you're trying to sell your own. I'm not sure how much mileage your DSM has (but I'm assuming it's over 100K), you'd be lucky to get $3000 for it. Unfortunately, that's just the way the market plays out.
