82 supra 2jzgte swap

Hey all. Just wondering. I have a 1982 supra which had a 5mge in it. I ran it hard for 5 years and have 300,000 mile on it. Finally one of the cams wear down so I am in motion to do an engine swap. I am just about ready to purchase a 2jzgte out of a 95 supra mark 4 from Japan. Has anyone does this? If so Any advise or comments to help me with this. Thanks. Uman

Re: 82 supra 2jzgte swap

If you don't have good fabrication skills, or if this is your first engine swap, don't attempt it. Be prepared to do a lot of work and spend some cash. The 7MGTE is a far better choice.

There is no swap guide for something like this. You just have to dive in and figure it out. Make sure you get an engine that comes with the wire harness and ECU.
