Tie rod stud won't budge.

Greetings all,
After replacing calipers and pads on my overly hot wheeled 90 2.5L I have come to the conclusion that the bearings in the hub are shot. I bought a Timken hub that has to be pressed in and decided to take the knucke off and letting a machine shop hassle the pressing out and in of the hub. Anyway, I can't get the tie rod stud to come out. I have tried using a gear puller and it was bent in about three different directions. I put the nut back on reversed so as not to damage the cotter pin slots and tried beating it up. Won't budge. Is there a secret method to get this off?. Am I better getting special tool # ????? and pressing the hub on and off myself without removing the knucke?. If these are stupid questions, forgive my ignorance. Everytime I pop the hood on this it is a new learning experiance.

It is called a tie rod fork. It is a wedge that fits around the stud and with a hammer, pops it off.
