twilight sentinel?

Hey guys, just picked up a '92 88 Royale today. I owned an '87 Delta 88 Brougham FE3 a few years back and loved it, so I went for another one here.

This has a few new features i'm not used to. The first one that i'll ask about is the "twilight sentinel". Can someone explain what this is?

My 1987 Delta 88 had a rear view mirror with a night sensor that would rotate up to night mode based on light sensing, I thought this might be similar, but my rear view doesn't have any wiring or such, so I doubt it. Does this have to do with daytime running lights?

Also, my brakes have a bit of a vibration, my first thought is that '92 was the beginning of ABS, which most likely wasn't as sophisticated as it is on cars now. Does the ABS on these cars give a slight pulsation feel, or should I be looking into new rotors?

Thanks

The twilight sentinel turns on your headlights at dusk. There is a sensor, usually located on the dash near the middle towards the windshield.Make sure you don't place anything on that sensor such as a map, or gloves, because it will block the job of the sensor, which is to monitor exterior light conditions and turn on your headlamps as it gets dark outside. You may notice your headlamps may come on if you go into a tunnel or are in a covered drive thru such as a bank or pharmacy. On many vehicles , the twilight sentinel is adjustable by the headlight switch.
