Fuel Pump Issues

Hi all,

I have an 2001 Sportage that stopped running on my wife's way home yesterday. I've checked fuses and the sound of the fuel pump wich was none. I picked up a new fuel pump and installed it and still the truck will not start, I've also purchased a new relay and nothing. I decided to check for continuity of 12V at fuel pump connector terminal wires. Iv'e gotten 10V @ y, 11V @B and nothing at G.

Help I need someone to point me in the right direction, I'm going crazy!

Thanks

Re: Fuel Pump Issues

Check the grounds in the truck. KIA is known to have bad grounds and the voltage cannot work without one. To test the pump you can run 12 volts to the pump direct and see if the truck will start.

Re: Fuel Pump Issues

Thanks,
I'll give it a try, do you know exactly where I should check the ground. I heard the pump run when I used a jumper at the data link connector B+ and Fuse Pump terminals.
