dilemma

ok ive had my sl for 2 years now, dont get me wrong i love it but i really really want a tt. ok i got a few options.........i was gonna get a vr4 that was for sale by selling my ride for some cash and getting a loan out for the rest of the money. that might be the quickest. but i wann no something first.. OK, hypathetically, if i build a good tt engine on the side, sayyyyyy 400-450horses, nothing MONSTER, but a good 12sec car, maybe better. and sayyyy i drop it in my sl, can i use the stock tranny?? i no ill need a different clutch, not a p[roblem. but is it just too much work, should i just say friggit and get the vr4 and work that up slowly???? dammit. i wish i hand enough money to do both, but dont we all, lol. well whats yalls opinion?

Re: dilemma

yes, it will bolt up, but the SL has shorter gears than the vr4.

If you have the patience, this is the route i would take...

take your time, build a kickass TT motor like you were planning to, but when your done, instead of dropping it into your SL, buy a VR-4 with a fucked motor and drop it in that.

You should be able to pick up a vr-4 with a blown motor for a really good price, since labor is so costly and not many people know how to work on them. depending on your budget, you'll probably even have your choice of body styles.

At lest doing it that way, you get the AWD and your choice of 5 or 6-speed. Just make sure the tranny's good...

maybe, if you have alot of patience and save a little, you wouldnt even have to sell your SL.

just my

Re: dilemma

just an option.. I am thinking about selling my red vr4.. for cheep to.. pm me if you are interested in working out a deal on it.. other than that.. I would still just sell yours and buy a vr4 and slowly mod it.. much more fun that way.. my vr4 was down for about 2 years and it killed me.. its going to be down probably till next summer now again.. ask hotshot his car was down sense 05..
