strange: lincoln ls vs acura rsx

well what do you know, i get rid of my car and have more fun racing in a slow car than in a fast car

i think half the reason i was tired of racing was because i rarely ever get a race thats worthy of racing.

well i had an adrenaline rush i havn't had since i had my eagle talon, or use to race in my moms sport contour

basically we take of at about 80mph, he starts off with a half a car lead on me, we hit it pretty much at the same time. we stay even for awhile, i have no idea how fast i was going, i know if i would have punched it for that long in the vr4 i would have been doing 150mph
i'd say we got up to 120mph, by that time i pulled up dead even with him with the momentum to pass him slowly but surely. we come up on a turn and we both slowed down to 70mph

i swear i aint felt that kinda adrenaline rush in about 5 years

its almost like its more fun racing when you dont know if you can win or not, then knowing your gonna win most of the time

lol yeah, the closer races are always the most exciting. I doubt you had my close races with the vr4. But soon enough you will start modding the lincoln.

It's pretty much inevitable, nice selection of cars though, i've always liked them.

Re: strange: lincoln ls vs acura rsx

do you think ricers are having alot more fun then as well? I mean if your in a 16-17 second car and you race from 0-80MPH thats gonne be like a 15 second race. Thats alot of time to enjoy the race and get ready for shifts and such. . .hmm young you might have stumbled onto something here.

Re: strange: lincoln ls vs acura rsx

that very well may be true

you know most the time i would line up next to someone and they would hear my bov, or they would see the words twinturbo on the side and spook out.

i didnt get many races as you would think you should get in a vr4
but with a slow car, its like everyone is willing to race you

its almost like my love for racing has came back through having a slow car

As they say, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I just spent the past three months driving M3/M5/M6s, 335is, 330s with the ZHP, and a few times that new hard top Z4 with 255 at the crank. Many of them had been modified with AA parts or Dinan goodies. And once (just once, and not for long, but I did get to), I got some wheel time with a Z8. Then I would leave work, and get into my 325i, and head on out. Sometime soon here, I'm supposed to go to an '08 Corvette Ride and Drive and a Solstice GXP R&D. Trust me...what they say is wrong.

Driving a slow car sucks, no matter how you drive it.

yeah im actually slightly jelous of my girlfriend. She just got a 2003 Mustang V6 Automatic Premium. Its a nice car and i like the way it sounds and drives but its kinda on the slow side for my taste. But she comes home all the time telling me about people who want to race her, shit no one ever wants to race me.

my point exactly

the problem is either people are afraid to lose, or they dont know anything about racing and performance cars.

you wouldnt beleive how many people look at a evo8-9 and i say "thats a quick car right there" and they say "it doesnt look fast"

when i tell them its as fast as a C5 corvette in the 1320 they dont beleive me

Re: strange: lincoln ls vs acura rsx

Guess it must just be ya'lls areas. Where I'm at, while day to day driving you might not get much, there are about four or five places to hit up on Friday and Saturday nights that anything slower than a low 12/high 11 just flat out isn't competative. And plenty of places where the spread goes from low 15s to low 13s, so you can always find a race.

Re: strange: lincoln ls vs acura rsx

we too have our street racing on sat and friday, but i havent went to those in some 3-4 years to go racing
remember i told you guys i was in a movie called off the scene 2?

i overstand your point though, the vr4 at the street races is fun. but i'm not gonna be launching that car 10 times a night...i'd put a hurtin on the tranny.

plus its just to ricey for me these days. i once went to the street races and lined up with a jeep some of the people on the side actually thought i was gonna loose
