Climate Control issues

Hey,
My friend is having problems with his breeze. He sets it on a/c with blowing directly towards him and then it automatically goes to defrost and then it switches back. Sometimes it just keeps going back and forth forever. Anyone have any ideas. He did switch out the acual Climate Controller, but it didnt seem to change. It was a used one, but i am guessing it isnt the problem. What do people think. Anyone know?
Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: Climate Control issues

Ok, I am gonna kill two birds with one stone here.

First, the climate control issue. The problem may not be with the A/C Heater Control Module, which you said your friend already replaced, but with the Mode Door Actuator. The Mode Door Actuator is and electric motor that mechanically positions the panel/bi-level and the floor/defrost doors. If battery voltage is low or not sensed at the motor for less than a 60 second interval, the motor will be out of calibration. Remove the M1 (I.O.D.) fuse for a minimum of 60 seconds. Once the fuse is reinstalled the motor will autmatically initiate the software calibration procedure. You will probably hear the motor moving the doors from one position to the next. If that does not work, the Mode Door Actuator will need to be replaced. It is located on the upper left side of the A/C Heater housing under the dash, which is the big black plastic unit containing the doors, heater core, A/C evaporator and the blower motor.

The second issue is from another post of yours about a good breeze forum. The Breeze / Stratus / Cirrus are all the same car. I frequent the Stratus forum quite a bit, because I own two of them. You should be able to post anything about the Breeze in either of the three forums to get answers to your problems.

Hope this info helps you and your friend.
