Emergency Help!!!

Okay, so my sister's '97 Eclipse was low on oil so I asked her to drop off a quart for me. After work, I go to the car and start pouring some in when I realize that it's rather clear. Upon reading the label, it turns out that it's freakin' motorcycle oil (10w40). So I'm just thinkin' F********CK but have no way of getting home so I drive on it--about 6 miles tops for 15 minutes.

Anyways, how much damage do you think the motorcycle oil did to the engine in that span of time? I'm planning to change everything out right now...but with this new set of oil, should I change it in a couple days again to kind of flush out the motorcycle oil or would this one change be okay?

Oh yeah, I didn't pour the whole quart in...maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of it got in.

Let me know guys....thanks.

Re: Emergency Help!!!

Yeah, it was 4 stroke.

I just changed out the oil on my sister's Eclipse....should I change it again in a couple of days as a flush or should this one change be enough?

Also, how about the other car (whichever car it's in?) Should we change the oil on every other car we have as well since we don't know which car has the motorcycle oil? If so, change twice to use one as a flush or just change it once?

Thank God it wasn't my GT. Like I was telling my sister's bf, that's why I don't let anyone touch my car anymore. Haha

I think it'll be fine, 10w40 shouldn't kill you, as long as you got ridda what you could in the eclipse. you might wanna find out the other car its in tho...

Re: Emergency Help!!!

Change the oil and you should be fine. You shouldn't need to change it twice.
