Re: On Star
Welcome to AF!
Did you read the "fine print" on any of the brochures or contract(s) that you signed? On many of the commercials I saw for Onstar it said "One free year of service". And the fine print said that the customer was responsible for any service packages after that free period. GM is not the only company that does this. There are many other companies out there that use similar tactics to introduce a product or service by giving you a period of time for free, and then charging you after that period if you choose to continue using it. Remember, the choice is up to you. You don't have to continue with the service. Have you tried to contact Onstar to possibly negotiate a better price? Sometimes , companies may offer a better deal to customer s who complain or attempt to cancel service. Many times, however it means you may have to sign up for a year's term to get that price.
