Cold Air Intakes?

Can cold air intakes only go on v8s? I wanted to put one on my car but I've been looking all over the net but I can only find them for v8s and I have a 3.8l v6

Re: Cold Air Intakes?

where have you looked? I have seen tons of them on ebay also try one of my favorite sites www.ws6store.com I order over 5gs worth of parts from it for my 02 t/a. Its a great site just type in v6 at the top of the page in the search bar and a list of parts for the v6 will show up. if you have any probs. let me know i'll send you the link. Also www.3800performance.com is a good site. If your not happy with the list on those try and google 3.8 v6 camaro performance.

Re: Cold Air Intakes?

The 95 exhaust should fit on the 94 don't hold me to that but nothing much change on those body styles except lights and crap. If you don't want to spend so much money I bought the magnaflow cat back and it sounds great! I am extremely happy with it, not to loud when normal driving but when you kick it that thing gets real loud. I was going to use borla i just can't see paying that kind of money, but it does sound good.

Re: Cold Air Intakes?

Could I use a cold air intake designed for a 1999 instead of a 1998 3.8l v6? K&N have intakes for 1999 cold airs but not 1998. I like the way the volant look but they only have one for a 5.7l unless someone has seen diffrent.

Re: Cold Air Intakes?

Hmm, I know that there was a difference between the 98 and 99+ trottle bodies. I think that the 98s were angled, and the 99+s were straight becuase of the shift to an electronic trottle, or "drive by wire." Anyway, the 98 requires a somewhat differnt intake.

I have the Whisper Lid on my 00 camaro, and love it. Its a lot cheaper then the K&N too.

heres one for the '98 http://www.lmperformance.com/1618/13.html

Re: Cold Air Intakes?

Yeah the whisper lids are great, I really don't know what to say about your 98 situation expect look on the ws6store to see if they have one listed, their website only list about a tenth of their actual number of parts they haven't had time to put up a full list. I know a guy that works there and their catalog is huge, on their website go to contact us and see if you can email them and talk to them and see if they have on or know of someone that does.
