honda accord 97( speed sensor problem?)
hey there
i have a 97' honda accord with a vtec engine. recently when i try to accelerate(like joining the freeway or after stop lights, signs) the car stalls between 20 mph- 40mph, and then the clogged thing will suddenly realses and accelerates and the car flows normally. during that stalling moment the engine raves as if i am drivign it witn neutral. so i diagnosed the car and the code that came up was " P0715 INPUT/TURBINE SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. what does that mean? and is that my cars problem? should i change the speed sensors? please help! |

Re: honda accord 97( speed sensor problem?)
Torque convertor (turbine) speed sensor malfunction shouldn't make it slip between gears. Was the Check Engine light on, or you just pulled whatever codes that were still in it? It could have been something leftover from some time in the past, or a one time fault the ECM didn't feel was worth firing up the CEL for...or may just be related to it seeing a mismatch between input and output speed during slip...at any rate I'd be surprised if changing the sensor fixed anything...
I'm making the assumption that it's slipping as it's going for an upshift, does that sound right?
