2000 alero cam sensor

I've got a 2000 Alero with a V6. It is throwing a code for the cam sensor. Can someone tell me where the cam sensor is located on this model. I thought I knew but the new sensor I purchased looks nothing like the sensor that I thought was the cam sensor. Thanks.

Re: 2000 alero cam sensor

Thanks for the reply. Very helpful. I did a search under Alero, never gave it a thought to check for other similar models.
