RSX Type R Tranny for my B16A?

Hmm.. I was just wondering, and excuse me if this question sounds dumb, could I use the 6 speed tranny from an RSX Type 6 with my B16A, and if so, what mods would be needed to make it work... my brother has an RSX and the gearing and redline seem similar to my car...

I realize that that they are different engine series.. just thinking a 6th gear might be kinda unique and nice for freeway driving...

my guess is that is wont bolt up to the B-Series blocks. Bolt hole would be in different places.

The k series transmissions have a different housing and will not bolt up to the b series block.

Man i didn't have to read the post. Its true what Marked001 said. Everything has to be in the same family. Are you gettin hooked with the rsx tranny or something? If anything go with type r tranny with lsd.

I'm talkin about the INTEGRA TYPE R (b18c5)

i bet i know a way you can get a 6 speed tranny for your b16....quaife sells 6 speed sequential clutchless tranny's....they are only $15,000 and they would probably have to custom make a tranny for your motor

Why would you even want a 6speed tranny?
I shift enough with my 5speed tranny, let alone 6speed.
Our cars aren't torque monsters or anything, plus we can frequently rev to 7,000+ RPM... so I really don't see a need for the extra gear... unless you plan on driving 150mph+ regularly and the gear is actually tall enough to do so.

u guys give up too easily...
so whats stopping you guys?
just the bolt holes dont line up?
make an adapter...
if the size of the tranny was wrong or the shaft blades dont match up, i can understand.

if us Volvo guys can make adapters for the Mustang T-5 Tranny's, for Supras tranny's or for BMW's Getrag i'm sure it wont be too hard to adapt a honda tranny to a honda engine.

Yeh and how much will that cost? I don't think its worth it anyways. The 6th speed is only there to save gas.

One problem with an adapter is that the splines will probably be the same for the RSX tranny and the hub spindle in the car itself. You might need custom axles for that kinda stuff
