Converter question
What is the most common symptom of a clogged cat? Seems to be an issue for the '03 I6. If a rich condition exsists would the SES light be on to indicate a code? I have noticed a partial "dead spot" on acceleration at highway speeds, about 2200-2300 rpm. Only lasts for a few seconds then it picks up. This is not a transmission slippage issue, just no power for a few seconds. Was wondering if the CAT is slightly clogged? Thanks

Re: Converter question
Usually this would set a code, but maybe not. Cats have not been an issue with these trucks unless accompanied by another problem which would set a code. Scan it for proper sensor functions, 02, tps and such. Fresh fuel filter?

Re: Converter question
Yes filter is only a couple months old. Could this possibly be the variable valve timing opening up the higher torque band? It only lasts for a couple secs.
