Question Effect on warranty of air flow, T.B. modifications

If I install an air flow system such as Airaid and T.B. spacer on my '05 Ram will effect any of the Chrysler warranties or even worse mess up any of the vehicles' computer systems? Thanks for any help!

Dont waste your money on a TB spacer they are useless. An aftermarket intake will not void the warranty unless its installed wrong and messes something up.

Re: Effect on warranty of air flow, T.B. modifications

Thanks! I have come to the same conclusion about the T.B. spacer. I bought the K&N air intake system and am taking great pains to make sure I install it properly. I plan to change to synthetic oil in the differiential. What about using synthetic motor oil, some say it helps MPG. Anything else besides maybe a flowmaster muffler that may help? I have already started using lucas oils fuel injector cleaner. My truck only has 25k miles, the factory air filter looks brand new. I understand that some of these mods may help more if say the filter and injectors were more dirty to start with. I hope I can tell a difference. I am averaging 16-17 MPG now but most of my driving is around town. Thanks to all for this great site!

if you change to synthetic oil in the differential make sure you have a cork or rubber gasket. If you use the "make it yourself" goo stuff the synthetic oil will eat away at it and eventually you'll have no gasket at all. I dont think you'll really see any noticeable gain from a muffler swap. What engine do you have? If you've got the hemi i would recommend a cutout pre/post cat. converter. You will notice a power gain as well as a slightly better mpg(if you can keep your foot off the pedal)

Re: Effect on warranty of air flow, T.B. modifications

There was a TSB in 03 that required the dealers change the rear axle oil in new trucks with 9-1/4 rear axles (on the lot and sold units) to synthetic oil. It is my understanding that since then they all come with synthetic from the factory.

Thanks for the information! imtheoneandonlyD, Not the Hemi, I have the 4.7. Would the cat. converter mod help with the 4.7 engine? Thanks again. I will see if I can find out more about factory synthetic from the factory in the differential.

im sure it could but i have no first hand experience with it. You would just need to match the piping with the cutout
