Thumbs up Anyone completed a "snake eyes" mod?

Oi!? I jus completed my snake eyes mod and was wondering if anyone else on here has done one and if so how they did it.

I know there are a few variations on this mod but i consider the one i used to be "true" snake eyes. Its the mod from vr4stealth.com and you modify a new bulb harness and attatch it to the car, placing the lens on top of that bulb. for wiring you wire it through the parking lights and using a 1157 buld you get a light with the parking lights on and a brighter flash with the turn signals or hazards.

It worked pretty well, and im fairly happy with it, though I may wire in an LED into each side to make it a little brighter, no biggie though.

I like that this way lets you save energy instead of having to run your headlights and that they work with the turn signals.

Re: Anyone completed a "snake eyes" mod?

i had snake eyes once. i did the "wire jumper" method. basically, when you turn the parking lights on, the headlights come on as well, but in the down position so the light illuminates the snake eyes.

one jumper wire on a harness below the dash, takes all of 5 minutes.

Re: Anyone completed a "snake eyes" mod?

alright alright alright, how 'bout this...

how hard would it be to make it so that the pop-up button on the dash controls the pop-ups no matter if the headlights are on or off? That way, you could have the headlights on, but down (giving the snake-eye effect), and the fog lights on, and if you need the headlights up, you just pop them up...

so basically just overriding the fact that turning the headlights on makes them pop up. Also, you wouldnt need any extra goofy toggles

so how do i do it? lol

?????

Yeah, Ive heard of people doing that also, all you do is cut a certain wire to the headlight motors i beleive.. it actually may be a fuse. But with that method you run into overheating your headlights (not the big a deal imo) and you cant get the snakes to flash with your turn signals

oh, and I dont have any new toggles lol (only two so far lmao) the snakes i did are hard wired directly into the marker lights. and let me tell ya, its not too easy getting the insulation off those wires without a stripper! (uh.. metal, not flesh.)

Re: Anyone completed a "snake eyes" mod?

but if you run into that issue, you can just push the button and pop them up...

the blinking snakes is badass, but i can like without it i think.
