Blinker?

I have a 98 Continental and am having some issues with my turn signals. It seems they work correctly every once in a while, but ususally they blink unbelievably fast, and change speeds, usually when I apply the brake it seems. all the bulbs are working and I believe the correct ones, I have checked fuses and have been told to check the relay, but can't find it. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Not sure what you mean by "check the relay" but you can play with the power distribution relays under the hood. Doubt that'll have any effect though.

Sounds to me like there's a problem with the LCM (lighting control module) however, this isn't something you'll just replace on a hunch, it's very expensive.
Occasionally an LCM will wander from the U-Pick auto wreckers in a pocket or toolbox, just for use as a diagnosis tool.

Strange things happen when the MFS (multi-function switch) starts to go bad too.

You mentioned the Brake Lamp Switch has an effect on the signals, that may be related if the switch was loose or becoming defective.
I believe the Brake Light Switch can be jumppered to prove out that part of the system.

You can get a 1998 FSM through my web page.
