Question 95 Check Engine Light reading

so i have a 95 tracker 16 valve, 4x4 and when reading the manual it says to jump a connector in the engine compartment (specifically says 4 pin by the battery) but i dont have a 4 pin by the battery like it says all i have is a 6 pin. anyone have any idea of which connector i need and which ones i need to jump to get it to read me the codes?

thanks in advance

Re: 95 Check Engine Light reading

Ok it has come to the point that i need to revisit this because everything that I have found points me in the wrong direction. The Haynes manual that I have says that there is a 4 pin connector that you jumper between 2 and 3 by the battery and then turn on the ignition and it will give you the codes. I have attached a picture of that area and i have tried all of the connections in that area but nothing gives a code. Does anyone know if there is something that im missing? Or am I looking in the wrong spot? I'm resorting to this because I need to get my car tested for emisions and the check engine light is on and it costs $85 to get it checked and none of the auto parts stores checks can read the codes....
Thanks in advance

Re: 95 Check Engine Light reading

OK never mind on this, for some reason it took some weird searching but i actually found a post on here for it.
Posted by Hesszoo:

6 pin connector by the battery with a cap.

1 2 3
4 5 6

1 - Has no wire
2 - Diagnostice Request Terminal, Blue with Yellow stripe
3 - Diagnostic Output Terminal, Purple with Yellow stripe
4 - Ground Terminal, Black
5 - Test Switch terminal, Blue with Red stripe
6 - Duty check terminal, Purple

I jumped terminal 2 with terminal 4 and got my codes, I had 2, a 13 O2 sensor, and 51 EGR. Iwill test them tomorrow and then change what I must.

I just wanted to say thanks for trying, and also let others know what I found.
