Considering a contour svt, any advice?

I have recently found a 98 SVT for about 4 grand, I'm thinging about buying it. Do you guys have any suggestions on what to look for? Common problems, etc? also, it has 115,000 miles and they are asking $4800, I'm thinking it should be more like 3500. What do you think?

This is a stickied thread on contour.org since it gets asked by just about every newbie.

It really depends on the condition of the car as to how much its worth. It would have to be pretty beat up to be $3500 but mint to be $4800.
