2002 GP SE Keyless entry HELP
My daughter bought an 02 GP SE from private 2nd owner. Dealer parts guy ran VIN and said it had factory remote. I bought a used remote off Ebay, but could not get it to program with the normal instructions. Dealer then tried and found that the car did not have remote.
I have located the factory wiring plug in the dash and can buy the receiver for $50, which is better than trying to put in an aftermarket unit. (I have done 4 Bulldog start/door remote units for my 4 daughters! )My question is, will this work? Or, will I need to possibly change the BCM? I read an old post here that indicates this may be necessary. If so, how can I tell if I have the correct BCM? Thanks for any assistance. |

Re: 2002 GP SE Keyless entry HELP
Welcome to AF.
The BCM module must support remote keyless entry operation and programmed by a GM dealer. Best way to tell is by the GM part number which is on the data labels. It should be 10439803.
