Adding gear oil
I have a 1991 mx-6 with a manual transmission. I decided to change the oil and the gear oil since it hasn't been done since I have owned it. When I went to add fresh gear oil I couldn't find where to add it. Where am I supposed to add new gear oil? Thank you for any help.

wow, i didn't know mazda/ford want's regular auto trans fluid for their MANUAL transmission.... wacky~ was it red oil coming out when u were draining it? http://www.mx6.com/forums/1g-mx6-gen...nny-fluid.html isn't google great?!? now where's my finder's fee? :sarcasm1: hmm, open page J1, more specifically J1-7, on the following link: http://manuals.wibla.net/mazda/90-92WSM/ http://www.mx6.com/forums/1g-faq-gen...sm-online.html you live in CA, so using gear oil with a GL-4 rating may help your transmission live longer; i like redline's GL4 oil personally Last edited by ricebike; 06-08-2010 at 10:07 AM. |
