idle problems

my 95 s10 has a 2.2L manual want to stall when driving when it happens dashlights come on that i'v never seen speedometer goes crazy and it idles high when at a stop sign. tends to stop acting up when its warm what could it be?

Hows the voltage. Is your battery fully charged? How about battery connections, check and make sure your battery connections are tight and good.

i have heard that from an auto repair shop, and on another forum some one said an idle sensor problem. and maybe its that, i dont know but it will be fine one day and not the other its got 230,000 miles on it and i havent changed any sensors but have changed my alt. in the last 50,000 miles
