radio problems

i've got a 1996 cavalier convertible with 132,000 miles on it and every now and then the radio will cut out no matter if u are lisiting to a cd or the radio it just randomly cuts out. i was thinking that there might be a short in the wires but i wasnt for sure. if it is a short how would i go about fixing that and if its not what could be some other possibilities for this. thanks for any help.

Re: radio problems

start at the back of the radio and follow the wires till the end, looking for a short the entire way, but its a stock radio thats 11 years old, that also could just be the problem
