One easy free step is to clean the Mass AIr Flow (MAF) sensor. Take it out with a few screws and clean the tiny wires with alcohol and care....a few years ago mine did what you described and some dirt had accumulated on the wires.

Re: 1995 lumina apv

Never forget the faulty Throttle Positioning sensor... Your book so tell you how to test it... If I recall? with the key on engine not running measure the voltage at terminal b the voltage should read about .5V... Operate the throttle smoothly to full open and it should not exceed 5volts... if it does or the voltage jumps then replace.. check terminal A to ground for good ground... Check terminal c for 5volt reference signal...

If this is all good it my be a faulty PCM... Had a vehicle that stumble or lagged on take off and it turned out to be the PCM... Get a book and do some testing... 20 dollar book and testing can save you a bunch over plug and play..
