low blower speeds
My daughters 98 regal melted the fan control and I replaced it. It only has the three high speeds now.the low and high blower fuses are all fine. The pigtail when jumped only produces high blower settings. Is there a resistor or something before the blower motor that could have burnt?

Re: low blower speeds
Welcome to AF.
If you have a manual dual zone climate control system the blower speeds are controlled through a blower motor resistor (BMR) located behind the blower motor at the firewall. Blower must be removed to see it and to replace. For automatic ACC climate control systems it is a blower motor control module and more expensive. A BMR runs around $18-$50. ![]()

Re: low blower speeds
BNaylor thanks for the info.I was hoping not to have to remove the blower but that figures.I wonder if the dash control unit the daughter brought home from the salvage yard will work. It doesn't have the lever at the bottom for the dual zone.Other than that all the hook ups are the same. Thanks again. Puttin the resistor in now. It looks alot heavier duty than the old one.
