A/C leak inside '99 van (again)

PROBLEM: Been thru this mess too many times. This time even using a small wire tied to a "T" spring shoved up inside the drain tube to "wick" the water out does not work enuff to keep all the condensation flowing to the outside of the Van. I have even tried using outside air with windows all closed to try to "pressurize" the van to push the water out. All that comes out is a small dribble, with the rest puddling up inside on the driver's side mostly. Grrrrr.

PLAN: The small plastic 4" x 6" tray that feeds the outside drain is visible (but not accessible without a ton of dash dissassembly) from the inside of the van. The thought is: 1. drill a 1/2" hole in the bottom of that little tray, 2. thread a pipe into it with an ID of at least 3/8ths, 3. drill a hole in the floorpan, 4. run a rubber hose to the outside from the pipe thru the new floorpan hole, and 5. provide some suction from a shop vac thru that hose to suck out whatever may be preventing factory drain from working.

QUESTION: Has anyone had to resort to this, or is there a better way? Is there something resting in that little tray which can be damaged by drilling into it?

Fixed the prob.
put the rubber part number for the drain to the outside, leaving the small wire to the inside drain pan. It "wicks" the water to the outside. That $6 part and a wire leading up inside worked.
