CV nut on '92 accord
Hi,
Yesterday I was getting ready to replace the rotors on my brother in laws '92 accord LX wagon and ran into some trouble. The driver side CV nut loosens but the passenger does not , in fact I busted 2 breaker bars. I used penetrating oil and some limited heat (I used mapp gas sparingly so I don't mess up anything.) Latter I began to wonder if the passenger side CV does not follow the conventional wisdom of lefty loosey and rightly tighty? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jon |

Re: CV nut on '92 accord
They should both be standard threads.
The ONLY time I remember seeing reverse threads on a production car was the old Mopars with Kelsey-Hays brakes...the lugstuds were reverse thread on one side of the car. When I did my friend's '89's shafts a few months ago I had similar trouble...1/2" breaker bar with a four foot cheater pipe, and all I managed to do was make the car move, even against the e-brake and a curb stop... Left it soaked with PB Blaster all day and rounded up an electric impact the next morning, and it came off easily...I suspect time and/or more power will get yours broke loose too...
