2003 Instrument Cluster Un-Plug / Plug

Hey Guys,
I've read about some of the clusters going out (not working) & that un-plugging & re-plugging the wiring harness will sometimes fix this problem. Are there more than one connectors & do you have to remove the cluster before you can un-plug it. Basically I'm asking for instructions on how to un-plug the instrument cluster. The lights work on it but none of the gagues do.

Thanks,
Willie

Re: 2003 Instrument Cluster Un-Plug / Plug

You have to first pop the dash bezel off, which just snaps out. Once this is out, there are 4 screws (one on each corner) of the instrument cluster that have to be removed. Once these are out, the cluster just slides out and the wiring harnes can then be accessed on the back of the cluster.

Good luck with this. If it doesn't work, there are a couple of guys on ebay that will repair your cluster if you send it in. Cost to replace all the motors is around $150... you just have to live for a couple of days without your gauges. If you have a gps, you can use it when driving to tell you your speed.

FiTxAg04. Thanks for the info. The gauges started back working today without anything being done. Loose connection????? Maybe. If it happens again, I'll pull the cluster & check the wire connection. If it happens 2 more times, I’ll pull it & have it looked at.

Willie,

I had this happen to a buddy of mine. He unhooked his battery overnight and re-connected it the next morning. Fixed all of his problems. Brent

brentcausey, Thanks for your reply. As I said earlier everything is working as it should. Started back working on its own. If it happens again, I'll try your method.

Willie
