cavalier heats up slowly when stopped

im relatively new to the cavalier "scene" if you want to call it that but my problem is as stated above.

when im in stop/go traffic or inline at a drive through the temp slowly rises. the mid temp. of my gauge is 90 (the temp. the car should be at normally) and the car indeed is normally there however on the stop and go side of things when the car idles it heats up...

now ive never let it get above 110 or so so now where near the red but i just wondered if the problem is even a problem. i heard in the other posts that explain how to bypass your fan that the fans in cavs dont turn on until quite high temperatures so is that the issue? i simply dont let it get hot enough for the fan to turn on so its fine? and if it did start to get say 125+ then the fan would just turn on... ?

i really dont know although i figured what i wrote above is true... guess im just looking for some reinforcement of what i believe to be true so i no it is true.

o and by the way i have
-no check engine light on
-no dripping water, coolant, liquid,
-no problems such as smoke from the engine bay
- only thing is that the gauge reads that the temp is slowly rising.

helps appreciated. thanks alot.

my cavalier does the same thing... im pretty sure its just the fan dealio, and they expected us to be driving?? recirculating air maybe... im not sure - but it is un-nerving

Re: cavalier heats up slowly when stopped

ya so i read that the fan goes on only at really high temps so i can either install a fan bypass switch so i can turn it on when i want or the easier way is just for me to turn the AC on and that automatically turns the fan on for when im in stop/go traffic.
