Re: Speakers..

4"x6" do you have an aftermarket cd player? Most speakers that size are about the same watts. I have panasonic in mine.

Re: Speakers..

Yeah, I have a 200 watt JVC CD player. I still don't know how many watts to get though for the front speakers. I just don't want anything to blow because it's too much or not sound good because it's too low. I know nothing about the whole audio thing...sorry If it seems like a dumb question.hehe..

Thanks again.

If your Deck is 200 watts, then any speakers that you get shouldnt blow, im getting clarions for myself, but there are alpine, Infinity, Rockford Fosgate... depends on how much you want to spend for the quality of sound, but most of these brand speakers wont blow, they have a peak handling of 100+ watts each...

Re: Speakers..

Find some one to hook you up at best buy or circuit city with their discount. The mark up on car audio is crazy. I bought about 500 dollars worth of speakers and a cd palyer for about $220. I have alpine type r's on the rear deck. Infinitys are good also. the higher end of rockfords. Like lefix said, its all about how much money you want to spend.

Re: Speakers..

I have Infinity 6x9s on my rear deck and Infinity 4x6s in the door. They sound really good until i get to the high end. So i bought new speakers and when i redo my interior ill be replacing these speakers with Hifonics 6x9s and Hifonics 6 1/2s for the doors.

Re: Speakers..

the pioneers have a greater frequency range- so they are "able" to play more sound - both brands offer the same sensativity, so one pair wont be any louder than the other

i would go with those between the two - and dont worry about blowing them even with an aftermarket deck. they dont put out that much power (look for "rms" power)
they should have the aftermarket speaker adaptor plates at best buy - so you "could" fit 6 1/2 inch speakers which would give you much cleaner sound

Re: Speakers..

I wouldnt suggest 4x6 for the front, they are CRAP size speakers, you should do a 6.5 round in the front and 6x9 in the back...

Re: Speakers..

i actually got the 15 dollar bracket for the front doors that switches the size of your speakers... oddly enough ive yet to hear anyone on hear with the same size. the bracket switched the 4x6's to 5 1/4's...

im using energy audio. http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...10088309&catid= .. they are pretty sick with the whole woven fiber cones make and everything... sound great and i actually mounted my tweeters in a seperate spot... if i showed a pic ( i will soon) im sure you would all laugh... simply because i didnt want to drill so i mounted them on the inside where the side mirrors are... i slid the round encloser that sticks out of the triangular piece there and stock the screw threw this mount that came with the tweeters... ran the wires through this and i was set... lol i dont mind the look but its not for everyone...

anyways i couldnt agree more with the mark up of car audio... the installer at futureshop showed me a cougar that they were working on. guy works at futureshop so got a discount. has retail=$25 000 instal for only about $10 000 at cost.
