04 STi Vs. 98 Si

This is my favorite race of the summer so far and it happened last night, i've been waiting two weeks to race my friend in his Si. Since he got the GT28 turbo kit and had it dyno tuned to the sound of 285 FWHP and 215 TQ.

Last night it finally happened, we all met up at our usual spot and hung out for a bit, some guy on an old ass 70's something 750 bike was talking shit wanting to race cars with it, long story short there...it's slow and got beat by our slowest car.

But on the bright side while we were at our racing spot i finally got to run my friend. So we line up at our spot which is exactly a quarter mile from where everyone else is waiting and go on three honks, i obviously got the jump right out of the hole and probably put a car and a half on him, i was ahead until between 3rd and 4th and that's when i heard the whooooooossshhhhhhhh, and there he was along side me, when i shifted to fourth he was passing and by the time we got to the finish line he was a half car ahead of me, which is about what i expected but to me it was a pretty exciting race, and i have a lot of respect for that little honda.

Anyway that's my favorite race yet even though it was a loss, just because of the hype.

Re: 04 STi Vs. 98 Si

was the hona "riced out" or is it a respectable car, the whole thing one color, no bs sticers and all the other stereotypes.
if it was riced eh good race, but i have more respect to a clean car

Re: 04 STi Vs. 98 Si

It's a clean civic not riced out at all. It's done up right, and he probably would have beat me by a lot more if he could get traction at the launch.

Ah...little torque monster, eh?

To me, I'd probably do an H22 swap over the B18C. Why? A bit more HP and TQ. So why not? Sure the B18C is a high revving engine with more aftermarket. But why not go for it

I've seen kids with H22 Civs popping out mid 13's with simple bolt-ons and cam jobs. Meh, my Honda days are over until they decide to come out with a decent Turbocharged compact. The MDX is pretty cool, but I wouldn't buy one.

So Joshy, does your cousin still have his Civic kicking around or what? Or did he finally get rid of it?

A respectable death, no doubt. It's good to see somebody actually posting a loss every now and then too BTW. On a side note...Josh...TBE and a tune already! Those boxers sound so good and you'll pick up close to 30whp. Dooooo eeeeeet!

good run man. which car's lighter of the two? the sti has a light frame but i'd assume the awd weighs it down a little bit. that sounds like it would've made a good video,, i wanna try and get more races on vid in the future b/c visuals add a better perspectival element than can be conveyed by just text alone.

Re: 04 STi Vs. 98 Si

I've got plans for this car, i was set on COBB for a long time, but...plans have changed..for the better. Once i get this new apartment at the end of the week i'll be able to start saving more money and then it's time for the money pit that is modifying my car....again...lol
