1997 LaSabre Limited, AC fades...

1997 LaSabre Limited, AC fades...
When accelerating half to three quarters throttle, AC air flow to dash vents is reduced be fifty percent.
What would cause this?

Have you checked if the air is coming out of some other area such as the defrost? You may have a vacuum leak causing the HVAC system to partly default to defrost. Or, something could be causing your blower to slow during accel. Just a few hunches.

Regards

Dan

Re: 1997 LaSabre Limited, AC fades...

Found the problem. The vacuum tank is located under the battery and the line was leaking where it connects to the tank. The rubber line was rotten all the way to the firewall.
Thanks to Dan for his help.
