need some help please.....
I have a 93 Chevy lumina 3.1 V6 car
for some reason after the car runs perfect for about 2 minutes then it misses out for awhile then dies if your trying to drive it it spits and sputters then dies If you tap on the idle air control valve while its running and it starts missing it clears out but not for long so I replace the IACV and no luck I just replaced the TPS sensor just a week ago because it thru the code for it and of course that didnt work ( but it did stop the code ) got new ignition module and 3 coils to go along with it still nothing BUT...here is the kicker after the car dies I try to restart and it wont but if I unplug the plug on the ignition module (the one on the passenger side with the 5 wires) and plug it back in it will run for a half minute or so and misses out I dont seem to have any vacuum leaks or any more ideas o yea I have scanned it and there is no codes.... |

Re: need some help please.....
you need to check for spark when it misses and dies. It sounds like a possible ICM or crank position sensor. You also need to check fuel pressure, it should be 41-44psi, key on engine off.

Re: need some help please.....
Does the idle air control valve connect to the ignition coils in any way? I am wondering if I may have a short?

Re: need some help please.....
It's possible you have an issue with the wiring to the ICM. Check al the pins for signs of corrosion or broken/missing terminals.
