Wet Floorboards?

Hey everyone, I'm new to car maintenance and could use anyone's input. This doesn't happen all the time, but it seems like whenever I'm in the car with the air conditioning on for over 30 minutes. My floorboard on the passenger side gets wet. I don't notice a distinct smell or anything. It has happened numerous times and it doesn't have anything to do with rain. Anybody have an idea what the problem might be?

Re: Wet Floorboards?

Your ac evap coil, being cold, causes water to condense out of the air as the air is cooled down. There is a drain pan provided under the evap coil and a drain tube that goes thru the firewall to the engine box. All the condensation is intended to be dumped in the engine box area ... outside of the cabin.

Often the drain tube is not routed correctly ... or sometimes its plugged up with gunk and needs to be cleared. It possible to have problems with the drain pan itself ... it may be damaged or full of trash.
