Angry 1995 Neon Help Please

My son races a 1995 Neon on a dirt track. It is an automatic, sohc. 2 weeks ago he washed it and then it wouldn't start, we found a lot of water in the gas. We changed the fuel pump, fuel filter and dumped 2 dry gas in the tank. It then started up and runs fine. Took it to the track and it was running fine.

The problem is this, It stays running until the green flag comes out and then it has NO power. He can floor it and has nothing. It stays running the whole time it just has absoulty no power to go any where and has to be pushed off the track.

Any ideas on what it might be????

Do you know how water got in the gas? Fuel filler may have a crack or something in it.

We put a new fuel filter on it.

That doesn't answer my question.
