The trunk of your Caprice
The purpose of this thread is to post some pics up of the trunk of your Caprice.
I wanna see speakers, amps, 9c1 stuff, groceries, bags of money, whatever! I'll post pics of my junk in the trunk as soon as it's ready (2 amps, power & ground distribution blocks, cap, fan, & electronic x over mounted to back of rear seats, 6x9's in the rear deck, and I'm working on the sub situation (1 12") because I don't want to take up more space with all this than the upper middle area of the trunk--so any cool trunk stereo pics I'll be looking extra close at for my own sake to see if anybody else has a good solution) ![]() ![]() photo courtesy of CNN.com P.S. This guy was a nut and I do not condone the activity pictured above. |

Re: The trunk of your Caprice
Well, here's my trunk. Nothing too special. I forgot the put the spare tire cover on before taking the pic. It's a custom built, custom fitted (by me) dual chamber vented subwoofer enclosure tuned to 39 hz. Two 1200 watt (600 watts RMS) 10" Kicker Solobarac L7 Subs being pushed by two 1000 watt (500 watts RMS) Kenwood 2 channel fan cooled amps. It's nothing too special. It's actually the result of trying to "out-system" the other kids back in high school years ago. I considered selling it all, but since it's all paid for and I spent so much time custom fitting it I figured screw it, I'll just keep it. I don't really crank it up like I used to when I was younger, but it's nice sometimes. I made sure I got the sturdy metal grilles over the subs so I can still just kind of throw things into the trunk and not have to worry about puncturing the woofer cone or rubber surround. I also made two hinged doors at the back so I can still access the tail lights to change bulbs and whatnot. I store the jumper cables, jack, tools, oil and other stuff in those compatments.

Re: The trunk of your Caprice
Snowing too hard now but picture some massive 27x11.50 Hoosier Quick Time Pros mounted on forged Mickey Thompson 15x10 drag wheels and a bunch of tools and a jack for racing.
That is enough slick to get at least the drivers front tire off the ground on a good launch.

Re: The trunk of your Caprice
They are a DOT slick with the gooves worn off.
Last time I went racing it was too cold to put water in the waterbox and still had no problems smoking them. I should post pics of the quarter panels. On these in good weather my 0-60mph times are 3.3 seconds and daylight has been spotted under the front tire at launch.
