Help Help Audio Question

I was wondering where most of you guys and gals mount an amp in a 01 silverado 2500 hd ext cab? My speaker box does not have a cut out to fit an amp, any suggestions

Re: Help Help Audio Question

Either on the floor under the rear seat or on the wall behind the rear seat.

Re: Help Help Audio Question

I know the back of the seat lifts off pretty easily. I have never actually done it though.

Re: Help Help Audio Question

what kind of box do you have? is it one that is custom made to fit under the seat? If so you would have to run the amp under the passanger or driver front seat, then tuck the wires under the plastic clip ons by the door opening.

I got a Crewcab and at first I had the Custom box to fit for behind the back seats, but not enough bass so I unbolted the big back seat and shoved a huge box back there and on the Crewcab the back of the floor is like 3'' higher than the front so my amp fits right under my box. I still got the single seater in the back right. ill go take pictures and post when my new subs arrive Fri or monday, Blew the old ones....

Re: Help Help Audio Question

You can put it behind the rear seat. You can modify it to fold down for easy access to the amps or you can just take it out, put the amps behind it and put your seat back in but it would be hard to get to your amps when you need to. Here's mine I modified it to fold down. All you have to do is take the seat out, cut the two little hooks and remove a V shaped cable from the middle. Here's a link with some pictures. http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72270
