tranny question?

i just got a new 4l60e installed last week and there is a hose hanging down from it. i' ve never seen it there before. could it be a vent? i also have a clunking noise mostly when i brake and turn. sounds almost like a bad shock? don't know if its related to the new tranny but i never heard it before.

Re: tranny question?

I would take it back to make sure that clunking you are hearing is not the tranny.

Re: tranny question?

If the hose appears to come from the top, it is the vent hose.

A 'clunk' could be the center (carrier) bearing on the driveshaft being improperly installed.

The advice above is good - take it back to the shop and have them look at it. You paid them money to fix it, don't settle for the clunk.
