x over question

ok i have a question. i plan on using my 2 12" to play below 150hz then get 2 midbass drivers and have then play from 150hz to like 400hz or so in a sealed box and then just have the speakers have a highpass set at like 63 hz or so. now i am planing on running 3 amps so i will use the x-overs on the amps. now will this sound good or . and for the subs they will probelly ported and probelly be tuned around 32 hz will also i want to try kickers cvx for subs.

Re: x over question

150 is pretty high for a sub to play. the midbass region is more like 80-200.

Re: x over question

tune the sub box to more like 28 Hz, then crossover the subs at no more than 75 Hz

Re: x over question

a sub is designed to play down to at least 30 Hz but limited in the top range, a midbass driver can play up 500Hz or more. The way you make the midbass driver see only the midbass freqs is to use a xover. You either need one that has 4 way capabilty or you will need a 2-way and a 3-way.

Re: x over question

ok, so i should look at the MLI-65 more then the eu700 since that is a 6.5 subwoofer.

Re: x over question

that mach 5 has a very nice price tag.
and yes, if you want to use it for midbass, then you would want to get a driver optimized for midbass.
