Unhappy dodge 1500 sst: Is the motor blown????

Hello, brand new here. Here's my problem:

2 days ago while traveling along the freeway, I made a lane change to pass another vehicle, when I stepped on the gas, the truck responded extremely sluggishly. At this point I looked down to see that I had no oil pressure whatsoever. At this point, I tried to quickly exit at the nearest ramp to pull over and when I gave it gas, it was dead. I rolled to a stop at the bottom of the ramp and popped the hood. The first thing that I noticed is that the coolant in the overflow tank was boiling and that the relief valve on the rad. cap had popped. I then checked the dipstick to see how much oil I had. While not bone dry, I maybe only had 1-2 qts in the motor (no leaks but I later discovered that the breather valve? had popped off the valve cover). I had to leave the truck for the night and pick it up in the morning. In the morning, while trying to jump it I noticed that there was a very tenuous connection between the pos batt cable and the connec to the batt (after 3 attempts to start, the cable was too hot to touch and sizzled when trying to start.) I then had it towed. This morning I bought a new batt and a splice connection to replace the bad connection. now when I try to start it, the starter turns enough to engage but just stops. It reminds me of when you don't much juioce in the batt and it'll click when you try to start it but this is much louder and more severe.

I apologize for the length of this but being a troubleshooter myself (different field) I know that even the smallest detail can help. So now, did I blow the motor and it won't turn so that's what's making that noise? or did I botch the repair job on the batt cable and the problem is there? I know a bad cable wouldn't have caused all of those probs but
I need to fix that before i can continue. I will say this It sounds and feels as if there is enough power to start the truck, but there is just clunking and no sound that resembles a motor being started. ok that's enough, I would appreciate any help anyone can give. thanks

hey, its me again. I just wanted to thank absolutely no one for their help here. I mean at least an "I don't know" would have helped maybe you people should stick to oil changes and tune ups. Either way, the engine was blown and I've bought a new truck since. Luckily for me, I didn't have to pay to much as I thought I would have to for a professional opinion. Thanks for nothing see ya.

Re: dodge 1500 sst: Is the motor blown????

what size motor 318 or 360? did you ever get it to crank? if it will turn over you have a chance you didn't hurt it too much. if it won't turn over then you got burnt bearings especially on the crank. i have seen a 318 ran with no oil in it until it ran hot and the dude filled it with oil and it ran like a new one. his crankcase vent was loose and i guess the vacumn pulled the oil out of the motor. but he didn't notice his until it started ticking not knocking but ticking, i would guess the lifters got dry. but his motor lived through it. if you can get it cranked then you can tell how bad it is. if it won't turn over then it is bad .. take the oil pan off and check the crank bearings one at a time to see if they are blue and burnt. good luck
