Exclamation Some problems

Ok, so i have a questiona nd a problem...
First off, how do you take the damn doors off of my jeep, its 2004 tj columbia edition. My manual they gave me is for a 2002 and it says nothing about the doors at all haha.
The other thing is when i am slowing down to a stop it sounds like the front end portion of my jeep rattles pretty loud right before i stop. Anybody have any clue what that might be? Im thinking something is loose for sure, i will take a look.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank-you

Re: Some problems

Do you know if the sound is coming from the brakes, or the suspension, maybe front diff? Also, is the Jeep a hard top or a soft top?

I think it is fomr the suspension, it sounds bigger than brakes, I have my hard top on it now. but the sound is there with the top on or off.

Re: Some problems

As for the doors... park your jeep down near my place in Detroit. Honestly, I'd be making it up if I told you how to do that, since I barely trust the Michigan weather enough to take the top off. I'm pretty sure it's just two bolts that hold each door on, though.
And the noise you are hearing could be a couple things. Do you have a manual trans? Do you have larger than stock tires? How many miles on it? Are there any problems with steering while braking? If you lift your Jeep and turn one wheel by hand and notice that the other is not (or that there's some play) then there is a problem with the steering. If it's not the steering, make sure it's not the brakes. After that, the trans...
It may just be normal, so I recommend taking it to the dealership... A sound clip might help me out, too! Good luck, and definately update the thread.

NOT SURE ABOUT THE SOUND, NEED MORE INFO, BUT AS FOR THE DOORS, IF YOU LOOK AT THE DOOR HINGES, THE HINGE PIN SHOULD HAVE A NUT ON THE BOTTOM. TAKE THE NUT OFF, REMOVE THE SWING STRAP, AND LIFT.
